“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way”

The above mentioned has been resonating within our goings; believing that through Christ, God orders our steps. We joy in the truth that God doesn’t waste anything including an order; therefore there will always be a Purpose to where His orders take us.

With a grueling but fulfilling 2018, we set our eyes towards a better year in 2019 and how amazing God has been throughout these past few months. We were joined with our friends and volunteers from Fiji and from the United States of America, and we partnered in facilitating the service towards the communities we serve. Jessica who had graduated from YWAM returned from America, Jonasa, Apakuki and Andrae who are a part of the Youth in Fiji, traveled over to get a taste of mission-life accompanied by Lusiana Serevi, who is a senior flight-attendant of Fiji Airways, whom through a common friendship, journeyed over to experience Cambodia much differently to how a tourist would.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are the days of visitations and we focus on one community per day, and with us would be our great friend and translator Dom and his partner Kakada.

Together with the visitations, the weekdays have been programmed to administer KIDS activities mainly in the Sen Sok Community.

Allow me to say that our translator is an enormous provision by God; Dom’s home is about an hour from home. He volunteers on our visitation days and would always declare that He is investing into God’s Kingdom regardless of the distance. Our program at home prior to departure has always been prayers and of course a snack or two at the table.

Visitation and Outreach locations:

  • SEN SOK COMMUNITY: a Slum area, 30-45 minutes from home.

SMILE VILLAGE: a village on the outskirts of the capital, Phnom Penh, about 45 minutes - an hour bike ride.

TAKEO VILLAGE: 2 hours from Phnom Penh International airport, is this village where we visit a few families.

All visitations mainly include follow-up (from Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday services) and prayers folded into constant encouragements through God’s word and testimonies. We’ve received great appreciation from the families we visit, preparing our meals and hydration, it has become a mutual affair with Joy being common and the main focus of our visits has been centered around establishing great relationships in God – and how God has allowed that, is amazing!

The work that we so stubbornly joy in doesn’t pay much, but the Heavens have been all so faithful to look after our goings, and we are always encouraged by the testimonies that we receive for it fuels us to continue pursuing God’s call in our lives.

We were blessed to have met a woman in Smile Village, together with her daughter Yesu. They use to stay with Yesu’s father who was not a believer, and because of that tormented them mainly because they believed in God. The abuse began when Yesu was still in the womb, but this lady would hold on fervently to her faith in God, until her husband gave her an ultimatum; he was only going to stay in their lives if only she was willing let go of her faith.

Years later, we visit the brave mother who now is being employed in one of the factories with Yesu, who is all grown and is now attending Primary School; she declares that if it wasn’t for God, they would’ve been somewhere much worse than where they are at now.

KIDS MINISTRY:

It’s been an incredible month for both us and the kids, having had a team from China and Pakistan aid in the programs that were set up, we thoroughly enjoyed worshiping and ministering to the future of the Sen Sok community.

The kids are from the ages of 2 to the oldest of 18 years and the programs for the month mostly consisted of bible story telling and English classes

We would love if you could partner with us in prayer for the following areas:

  1. Greater and more effective networks here or abroad that would provide any assistance that could better our services by any degree.

  2. Laborers — the vision is great and the platforms must increase, so will the labor. We’re currently praying for more “hands on deck” that could help us cater for the work.

  3. More locals that are willing to be trained and to become disciples of Christ, desiring to impact their individual communities.

Praise be unto the God who lovingly calls us, regardless of our achievements and our failures, for if He wasn’t in all of this, any and every work would be in vain. We sign off on a great and a productive March. With greatness, we thank you all for your support.
